Experimental software
Link’d DMR is experimental software in active development and beta testing. Android cellular push-to-talk, public account signup, and the verified CJ-1 RF path are a public beta. Offline mesh, automatic switching, additional radio gateways, and broader hardware compatibility are planned or under validation. Every beta capability may change, be delayed, or be unavailable. Nothing on this site is a promise of availability, performance, range, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Not for safety-critical use
Do not rely on Link’d DMR as your only means of communication in emergencies or other safety-critical situations, especially during the beta period.
Radio regulations and licensing
Transmitting on DMR or analog radio systems may require licenses and must comply with the radio regulations that apply in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for operating any connected radio hardware legally, including frequency authorization, equipment certification, and identification requirements.
Beta participation
Public-beta access may be modified or withdrawn at any time, and access to additional private testing programs is granted at the project’s discretion. Beta builds may contain defects; testers accept that functionality can fail without notice. Feedback you submit may be used to improve the project.
Accounts and invitations
Keep your login, verification, password-reset, and private-group invitation links secure, provide accurate account information, and remove devices you no longer control. Verification and reset links expire and are intended for one use. Private-group invitations are email-bound and single-use during the beta. You may not sell access, evade a removal or ban, impersonate another person, or use automated signups.
Private-group conduct
Group owners and moderators are responsible for membership they approve. Do not use groups to threaten, harass, distribute unlawful content, disrupt service, or gain unauthorized access. LinkdDMR may suspend accounts or groups to protect users, comply with law, or preserve the service.
Presence, alerts, and manager controls
Group presence and current-talker displays are operational metadata, not permission to activate another person's microphone. Call alerts are short-lived ring requests and do not auto-answer or grant audio access. Owners, admins, and moderators may use role-limited controls to suspend, remove, revoke Cellular access, ban, or restore lower-role members. These actions require an explicit reason and are retained in a security audit receipt. LinkdDMR does not provide covert listening, device bricking, remote RF destruction, or hidden recording controls.
Cellular audio beta
In the public account-authorized cellular push-to-talk beta, current private-group membership, an active account session, and a registered Android device control room access. The service may disconnect a participant when that authority ends. A LiveKit forwarding server transiently processes and routes live audio and related device, group, floor-control, participant, and network metadata. The service does not make general room recordings. One owner-authorized CJ-1 may archive its incoming cellular and decoded RF receptions with a visible Android recording notification; those encrypted archives expire after at most 30 days and may also be delivered to the owner's configured Telegram chat. Transport encryption is not end-to-end encryption. A talkgroup room is limited to 64 concurrent participants, and restrictive networks may fail because there is no TURN/TLS fallback. Other participants may hear or capture what you transmit.
